Some Cartoons and Pictures. . .

God typically teaches me more (common sense-wise) by simply reading a Proverb, and Psalm, and a cartoon or two per day! This certainly says more about me than my Greek, Hebrew, and Syntax professors in College and Seminary!

Some for viewing today. . .

Thoughts on the priorities of a local church, and that of a Pastor!?

On health, weakness, and "my" abilities! ! God has been mightily teaching me this during the last five weeks (during my trying and stressful recovery from a lower back disc surgery to fuse/insert metal rods!) that He does NOT "need" me. . . Further, (and this one hurts. . .) "My" church does not 'need' me. . .especially because it's not Mine! I did not die for her, rise for her, nor promise to come back for her! The institution where I teach Bible & Theology does not 'need' me. . .nor any of us! I recall once again the thoughts of Dr. Rogers, "God does not 'need' the SBC!" Amen, from Heaven, dear Adrian!

On Marriage and Family. . .A young man asked me for marriage advice. . .All I could give him in the moment was my life history. . ."Stay as close to Jesus as you can when single, and God (in His timing---that's the worst part, isn't it!?) will give you the most beautiful woman in the world to marry."

Now the pics for which several friends have been holding a RANSOM over my head. . .waiting the coming day, when the blog would finally include them! ? !

Sorry, single guys, but she's already taken. But God, I would think, has a precious gift for each single destined by His grace for marriage--that is far beyond their dreams! Not simply by sight (that is the way we look at things!) but more significantly his/her beauty from and in Him! God, we know, looks not on the outward appearance, as man, but on the heart! (1 Sam. 16:7)If in His wisdom He gives you children on loan for their growing up years (whether by birth, adoption, foster care, or extended family) thank Him for yet another one of His marvelous gifts, as our Father of light.

In the Lamb,

Todd
